08/01/2008 7:29 AM - The fact this is occurring while there is an ongoing controversy ovr whether Brett Favre shoiuld be in the Green Bay Packers' training camp, is, of course, a coincidence. But it is ironic the team chose this time to announce a major parking/security project at Lambeau Field.
The Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District has agreed to contribute $10 million to the renovation estimated to cost between $22 million and $25 million. The Packers are going to kick in the rest of the tab.
The team plans to construct an underground parking area for players and staff while still allowing fans to watch players as they enter and exit the stadium.
The Packers say the renovation would extend the plaza on the north side of the atrium around the east side to the Oneida gate and move a walkway to improve fan traffic flow. |
