08/11/2008 11:47 AM - Ashland University currently plays at Community Stadium. As the stadium name implies, the Division II school located in notheastern Ohio shares the place with other teams in the area.
That may soon change. The school has recieved permission from its Board of Trustees to move forward with plans for a 6,000 seat facility that may start construction as early as November 2008. That would put it in line to become the next grid home of the Eagles in 2009.
It would be a complex that would also become the home of the soccer and track and field teams. The entire project is currently listed at $23 million. The school has raised over $19 million, enough to get the Board of Trustees believing the rest of the money will be found.
